Washington State Emergency Links

+ Washington State Disaster Center.
The Disaster Center web site was originally set up to bring, in one location, links to information related to disasters and information related to mitigating, preparing for, responding to and recovering from disasters. This link is specific to Washington State.

+ Washington State Emergency Management Division.
The Washington Military Department, Emergency Management Division (EMD) provides access to emergency preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation government services and information online to help meet the needs of the businesses and the people of Washington.

+ Washington State ARES/RACES.
The Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (RACES), is a special phase of amateur operation sponsored by FEMA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, that provides radio communications for civil-preparedness purposes only, during periods of local, regional or national civil emergencies. The Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) is a volunteer radio communications service available to federal, state, county and local government, as well as not-profit organizations. ARES consists of more than 600,000 U.S. amateurs nationwide who have voluntarily registered their services and formed an organized pool of operators to provide reliable primary or secondary communications links for governmental agencies and/or not-profit organizations when needed.
